CEO Jonas Gejer: “A revolution in the making”
ArticleTechnia hosts an inspiring and provocative seminar about the use of PLM in industry.
‘Revolutionizing the way you bring products to market,’ was the theme of the PLM Innovation Forum 2011 held at the Modern Museum in Stockholm on September 21.

“We are glad to see so many participants and customers who travelled far and wide from the U.S., England, Spain, Germany, France, Norway, Finland, Denmark, Turkey and Japan to Stockholm. We were very honored to have you all here, of course,” said Technia’s CEO Jonas Gejer in his welcoming speech to the approximately 350 participants.
Technia’s PLM Innovation Forum is our largest annual event, and is the signature PLM event in the Nordic countries. This was our first year at Stockholm’s modern museum, a fitting venue as it hosts some of the best contemporary art in the world.
“We knew this would be a great setting for a conference about inspiration, innovation and creativity. Many of the artists here share the same out of the box, free-thinking mindset that the world’s great entrepreneurs and innovators have had,” Gejer said.
“I am certain this rubbed off in our rich array of presentations and break out sessions during the day, and that, now home, you are all fired up to bring even more clarity and creative solutions to all your business systems.”
New this year was the participation of Johnny Goldstein, a visual storyteller, who summarized every presentation in individual tableaus, or visual notes, containing symbolic drawings of the main concepts and ideas that were discussed. His presentation at the end of the day was a highlight for all of us.
The PLM Innovation Forum 2011 was really about the PLM revolution, albeit a peaceful one. New industries for example like the construction and service sectors are capitalizing on PLM and improving product management. PLM in general is about improving throughput in the supply chain, it is about persistence and long-term commitment.
Some of the key discussions of the day included: Can PLM help manage product structures and components? Can PLM cut costs and shorten time to market? Can PLM enforce regulatory compliance and certifications? Can PLM shorten the process of component reuse and meet product launch dates?
